Meme by any other Name

LOL - i'm so far behind. this is something from mid April that i never had a chance to post that i swiped from magnet5

I have trouble just listing one thing. And tell me how can you pick just one book? Impossible. I did try and I tried to go for first instinct instead of overthinking. But most of them I listed multiple items. Oh well. I’m not good at superlatives.

A book that made you cry: The Man Who Fell to Earth (with anger), Bridge to Teribithda had me sobbing, A Hatful of Sky (most recently)

A book that scared you: hmmm. Mr. Murder by Dean Kuntz

A book that made you laugh: any Terry Pratchett book and we’re talking laughing out loud then furtively looking around to see if anyone heard, Harpo Speaks by Harpo Marx, Princess Bride

A book that disgusted you: Wicked. It was crudely written in both senses of the word.

· A book you loved in elementary school: I read StarGirl and The Swiss Family Robinson every week for maybe a year.

· A book you loved in middle school: Anything Andre Norton

· A book you loved in high school: The Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov or Catch-22 by Joseph Heller; was also very into Piers Anthony

· A book you hated in high school: James Joyce’s Portrait of an Author as a Young Man

· A book you loved in college: Good Omens by Terry Pratchett

· A book that challenged your identity: Chariots of the Gods by Eric Van ?? gave me fits when I was 13 and trying to understand my religious beliefs.

· A series that you love: Narnia (CS Lewis) or David Edding’s Belgraid

· Your favorite horror book: I don’t read a lot of horror so it would have to be Mr. Murder. That may have been the only one I’ve read. I don’t consider the Steven King books horror for some reason.

· Your favorite science fiction book: the one my friend co-wrote but hasn’t gotten published yet and I promised not to reveal any story details about it until it’s published. It’s really good!!! My favorite recent one is Eric Idle’s Road to Mars

· Your favorite fantasy book: probably David Eddings

· Your favorite mystery book: anything Margery Allingham

· Your favorite biography: Harpo Speaks

· Your favorite "coming-of-age" book: The Witch of Blackbird Pond or Jacob Have I loved

· Your favorite book not on this list: Fermat’s Enigma by Simon Singh or The Physics of Star Trek & Beyond Star Trek by Lawrence Krauss, Alice in Wonderland/Through the Lookingglass by Lewis Carrol, any book of Ogdon Nash poetry

I am a A Heliotropic Dragon!

Hey, I took the http://dragonhame.com online Inner Dragon quiz and found out I am a Heliotropic Dragon on the inside.

In the war between good and evil, a Heliotropic Dragon tends to walk the fine line of Neutrality....
When it comes to the powers of Chaos vs. those of Law and Order, your inner dragon walks a fine line between Law and Chaos....
As far as magical tendancies, Your inner dragon has the ability to conquer the world of magic, but it will not be easy....
During combat situations, whether by spells or by claw, your inner dragon will do whatever it takes to get the job done....
Instead of scales, Heliotropic Dragons have a thick hide to cover their body. At the early stages of life, the Heliotropic Dragon is green with red speckles that resemble blood spots. When fully grown, the dragons color changes to any number of variations of violet, but predominantly they have a deep, reddish purple color with streaks of azure blue and magenta.'
This unusual skin type also gives them an unusually sleek appearance and allows them to move with greater speed and freedom both in air and under water. These Dragon's are known to be highly competitive.'
They often meet with other dragons to compete with each other for sport. NOTE: A few small villages have been destroyed by being so unlucky as to be in the path of a speeding Heliotropic Dragon taking a shortcut to gain an advantage over it's competitor. Heliotropic Dragons are well known for their protectiveness, but also are known as loyal friends and allies. They make true friends rarely, but those friendships that they make are well chosen and long lasting.
This Dragons favorite elements are: BloodStone and Valerian Root

OKAY - So is that good? it does say i'm a loyal friend, which is good. but i'm not sure about the rest of the stuff. I do think I am too competitive! in a weird way, though. i want to win but i want EVERYONE to win. so i try very hard to win but only by a few points or something stupid like that. if i'm behind i'll fight like mad to get to the top if i am able but when i'm in front i slow down to let others catch up. this is bad because i don't like it when people "let me win". or at least if i catch on that they are letting me win! but sometimes i deliberately sabatage myself to let people win if i think they are having a bad day or need to win. I once lost three times at Rummykub to my friend Charity when I was first teaching her how to play the game. i wanted her to like it and to feel good about playing it. Then i started really playing and she trounced me every other game for real and got really braggy about it. i was ticked!! LOL!! oh well. Little kids, too, because my dad never ever let me win against him ever. So i will sometimes win and sometimes let them win to learn how to lose properly and also ego boost win to keep them trying and improving. i'm gonna blame it on my dad! he once flung the parchesi board across the room because a six yaer old beat him! ha!!
