Revisionist History Strikes Again

Ta-Da!! I just went back and made everyone's names a link to their journal. Again, thanks to supergoober's help I have learned a new LJ skill!

A part of me is all sentimental, going back to day one and correcting my entries is kind of like digitally remastering mom's videos of me as a baby to make it appear like I always walked. Okay, that was a little sappy. Not that I'm going all Orwellean or anything - just linking the names.

Want to hear something sad? I had to do a Google search to figure out how to spell "ta-da". I just couldn't believe it was that easy.

Everyone wish me a happy birthday! Today was wonderful!! One of my co-workers brought me a cheese danish with "happy birthday april" and a smiley face on the box. Of course I shared with the office. The neatest thing was it was the first time I didn't mind being the first person to cut into a pastry in the breakroom. Then my supervisor brought me four cans of Mandarin oranges (I LOVE those things), a bag of mini-snickers (because I ran around the office all day yesterday complaining about wanting a Snickers bar), a box of Fairly OddParents cheese crackers (she didn't even know I was a fan, she just thought the box "looked like me"), and a package of individually packed stain wipe-a-way sheets (because I tend to spill things!!). It was so cool! Then about an hour later everyone in my part of the building came into my office to sing happy birthday and they gave me a card, $25 cash (!?!?!?), and a beautiful birthday cake. Then the emails started! I got about 5 or 6 emails from around campus sending me birthday wishes. A couple people stopped by to give me hugs. My mom and my husband took me to lunch & he gave me a Caldecott Honor book about a Pigeon that really wanted to drive a bus (it's a great book done by the guy that created Sheep in the City) and my mom got me a bodhran & a penny whistle!! That afternoon I was told they had planned a lunch for me but had to cancel it since my mom took me to lunch so tomorrow we're having "Hot Dog Day" and everyone's bringing hot dog related food (chips, buns, relish, etc.). And just before I was to leave my band mate brought me a cherry cheesecake danish from the French Bakery in town. I never felt so loved in my life!

Tonight we put up our Christmas tree - family tradition that the Christmas tree must go up on my birthday. Now I'm off to make some macaroni salad for Hot Dog Day!

I love everybody!!

PS Here's one page that talks about the Pigeon book: http://www.enotalone.com/books/078681988X.html

Re: Loved
I walked into the kitchen, looked around for the macaroni then thought - oh no, what if Sue makes some? Then mine will be side by side with hers. Even though I think mine is good, we all know hers is like nector from the gods (tuna&pickle flavored nector, maybe, but nector no less) and I couldn't bare the thought of the comparisons. And I was tired.

I was regretting that decision the next day, though. It would have been nice to have some. ARGH - now I'm craving it. Thanks, Bree.
