June really sucks.

A week ago my uncle was buried. (Dad's side of the family.)
Today my aunt just passed away. (Mom's side of the family.)

Uggg!!! That's just like it was for me when my Uncle Wes, and Aunt Annie died 9 days apart!! Were your Uncle and Aunt married to each other or are they separate members of your family? Were they both in NY?
So sorry girl. I'll definitely add them to my prayers.

I thought about your Uncle Wes & Aunt Annie when I got our news today.

My Uncle Ted is a NY relative - he's my dad's sister's husband. You've probably met him, my Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Ted used to visit once a year. He taught me how to play dominoes. :)

My Aunt Missy was an AL relative - she's my mom's younger brother's wife. They lived with my parents off and on. She's the reason I know not to eat at Mary's Kitchen. I'm sure you've heard me talk about their grandchildren, who also lived with my parents for a little bit.

I am so sorry. Nothing to make it better.

thanks, Ann. this has been a really difficult week. although, much more difficult for my cousins, of course. but actually does help knowing people are thinking about you/praying for the family.

I am so sorry for your loss! Losing a loved one is so hard, especially when you lose more than one at once. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Blessed be.

Thanks - I really appreciate the prayers and thoughts.

And for what it's worth, you have always struck me as compassionate and someone who cares for the well-being of others. As someone who frequently has been a student of music teachers - and a student who doesn't practice as much as she ought sometimes - I think music teachers are some of the most patient people on the planet. You guys have to listen to some awful noise and some awful excuses sometimes. And parents of students are exceptionally crazy sometimes. It made me think of this video - don't know if you've seen it.

lol, I love that video! That is what a lot of parents are like. They expect their child to do well without practicing the required minimum of 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week!

Thanks also for the reality check. I always thought compassion was a trait I never lacked, so it really surprised me when one of my principles said I needed more of it.

Oh honey, I'm so sorry.

Thanks. That means a lot.

I feel kind of stupid posting even, and I didn't want to post about it on Facebook because so many of my family's on there i was afraid I'd make them sad with additional reminders, but I wanted to yell it somehow. My poor cousins today having to face Father's Day just over a week from losing their dad.

On the "bright side" my aunt is on my Alabama side, so if my uncle does a memorial service I can attend. Although he cannot do it anytime soon. He's not doing so well, but he's promised to come and visit for a few weeks.

I must say, as much as I would rather be in Alaska - it's turning out to be a good thing we are here the month of June. I would NOT have wanted my parents to have to face all this alone. I've been hanging out with them a lot to kind of be a support for them.
