This made me happy

Orange haired beauty
with mind wonderfully warped
you make me happy.

Monkeys wrote that haiku about me after our first date. He sent it to me in an email as a piece of art he designed -- a graphic image of a redhead with flowing orange hair, the words to the haiku appearing along the tresses of her hair. It’s really cool. After I got my own office, he turned it into a placard I could hang on my wall. When I moved offices and lost most of my wall space, I stuck it up along one of my windowsills and put a smaller version of it on the back since the back is exposed. I thought a scaled down image of the poem would look better than a lumpy black chunk of foamcore (sp), which is what it looks like from behind. It’s been there for a year or so. Today a tapping on my window startled me away from my work. I looked up and there was a lady laughing and smiling. She pointed to the poem and gave me a thumbs up gesture once she got my attention. When I smiled back she went on her way, still grinning.

That was awesome.

I'm no expert on these matters, but I think the syllable count is a bit off.

That doesn't change the complete sweetness of what John did or the fact someone else admired it.

I'd take a flawed poem from my husband anytime!

Actually Kenton and I were just talking last night and he sort of apologized for not being able to draw something for me. (We were watching something and I mentioned that my ex had drawn a sketch of me once) Then I reminded him that he DID draw me something when we were "courting". That made him smile though he had no memory of it. Of course that was 15 years ago.

That's so sweet! It reminds me of some of the stupid things I've done with my kindergarten level art skills (like cutting out hearts from construction paper and writing my own messages on them for Valentines Day) where I'm almost embarrassed to give them to him yet he loves them. :D

Yay for good husbands - especially ones who get better and better as years go by!

Your post made me ridiculously happy. :)
