Wednesday I got freaked out a bit when some speed limit signs on either side of the road started spinning a bit then got ripped from the ground and flung down to the ground. I was afraid they would land in the road or on my car. The sky was also a funny color and everything felt weird. I could see a mile ahead and the street signs weren't moving and the sky was clearer, which was even creepier. I knew we were under a tornado watch, but I didn't actually see a funnel cloud. It was just odd.

Today my coworker brought a newspaper in and showed me an article saying the tornado was spotted on Duke field at 7:30 am. I was passing Duke field at 7:30 when the signs attacked, so I must have been pretty darned close to it!

Your car is SO awesome... when we were in that big thunderstorm coming back from Atlanta that one time... (Remember the lightning strike that nearly made us deaf?) you car was literally *hugging* the road and didn't waver a bit!
When you're driving that car, you're safe and snug as a rug in a bug.

Wish I would have been there though! How exciting!

Yeah, I called mom when I got to work because I figured she would be worried if she heard the news reports, and in talking to her about how it was really scary but the car never seemed out of control I actually mentioned that lightning crash trip/hugs the road as another example of my car being awesome in bad weather situations. We thought my bug would handle crazy winds better than Monkey's jeep.
