I just finished making a Mii of my mother and my father! Monkeys helped because he is rather artistic. Monkeys is going TDY in a few weeks for a week in Tucson, and my parents are going to come up and hang out with me while he's gone. We already have several activities planned (some art projects, some house projects, some British television shows to watch), but I also want to show them the Wii Fit and see them try a few of the balance exercises or yoga poses. Mom and I did yoga every night together the last time Monkeys went TDY, and she is interested in learning more about yoga.

Monkey's trip is part of the reason I have this new laptop. (I could have lived with the dead battery and treated it like a desktop system; I could have lived with the lack of cd drive though it would have sucked.) He wanted to be able to video chat while he was gone, and my old system could never have supported that. :)

It's hard being without your husband, even for a little while, but it sounds like you'll have a fun time with your parents.

Is it wrong I'm almost hoping I'll need surgery so my mom will visit?? I love that I have a relationship with my mom where I LOVE hanging out with her.

I was talking about that with Toast the other day - about how glad I am that so many of us have *good* relationships with our parents, because that is surprisingly uncommon. I am so thankful for and happy about that. I wish all of us had that.

I'm glad to hear your mom will go to stay with you after your surgery!!!! That is excellent!

What's funny is my mom and I talk about how great it is that we can just be ourselves with each other. He can't stand being around her mom because she has to be someone she's not.

Mom insisted she was going to come up is I needed surgery. So I insisted I would pay for her ticket. I know she can't afford it and then she can visit without worrying about just paying so much for a ticket. Plus I don't have to feel guilty about the same thing.

I DO love my mom. I think she's a wonderful person and she helped make me the person I am. Granted I had a rocky childhood because of her drinking while I was a child. There is nothing we can do about that and it made me.. me. Plus she's like a flakier version of me... and I'm flaky.

Monkey is coming to Tucson? Cool!

If he has time while out here let him know I'd love to have him come by my husband's store so we could catch up. It's not far off of Davis Monthan, so a ride wouldn't be a problem if he needs one. I can be reached at Hat's Games 520-514-2960 every day after 11 am MST.
