You mean I have to listen to the radio?

VIN is in the shop. Again. I have a CD stuck. I really don't know how I manage this kind of stuff. I called the dealership and asked if it was okay for me to just try tugging at it with some pliers somehow (which would be difficult as I couldn't even see the CD), but the service department said it would be better for me to bring it in because it's still under warranty. If *they* break it, they would have to give me a new radio system. If *I* break it there would be much crying and no free replacement. So now less than a month from the last time my car was in the shop to fix a broken visor (????) I'm sending it back in. I told Randy this was extremely embarrassing and he giggled at me.

At least the mechanics there are pretty cool.

And I forgot how much I liked NPR.

But *really* ... a stuck CD? I feel like I've made a doctor's appointment for a paper cut.

1) Raven totally broke my visor and shoved the CD in the changer so far it got stuck.
2) Apparently I'm getting a whole new radio because the mechanics couldn't get the CD out, either!!! LOL!!

Wait Wait has a Podcast!! I subscribed via iTunes - burned a bunch of episodes to a CD and listened to them one after the other on a road trip once. :) (Obviously you can't call in and the news is older, but the jokes are still funny!)

Sorry about your radio. :(

well it's better than leaving it in there and not using the player.... like I have for the past couple of years. :D

doh!!! i'm glad this happened while it was still under warranty - because i don't know if i could bring myself to pay for something this dumb. :) i would be doing exactly what you're doing.

For real embarrassment, I locked my keys in my previous car so often that the locksmith gave me a freebie as a high volume customer.

That is awesomely embarrassing! I like your locksmith. :)

I learned they will come faster if you lock your keys in the car with the engine running. (that was embarrassing, too.)

im surprised you're not blaming that one on me too "hey everyone i had yoga class with herzograven and he broke my cd player and my visor by leaning on my car, what a fatass!"

but seriously, whenever i have warranty or if i pay for extra service anywhere i make sure that i milk the crap out of it and take it in if dust lands on it the wrong way! just cause im paying extra for this service and i want to make sure whatever im paying for is taken care of really freakin well

when do you get your car back?
yoga class was fun last night, but us talking for an hour afterwards while standing in the same spot was even funner :D

Good point!! I fixed it so that the entry explains how you broke it. :) HA!

It's going to be in the shop possibly longer than originally planned as they are going to also check my iPod connection. My parents are coming up tomorrow morning to get my iPod and take it to them so they can test it. Apparently no one at the dealership owns an iPod to test it themselves. So maybe I'll get it back Thursday night or maybe I'll get it back on Saturday.

And remind me on Saturday to show you the yoga poses on the Wii Fit!! It's really cool!! It shows your center of balance and when you are wobbly.

MLR, I'm *so* sorry that Imran broke your visor and the CD player too!

He breaks your car, he totally busted your back window so you had to get new french doors... he hides lobsters and moose all over your house... What are we gonna do with him???

I know, right? And he calls himself a friend. *sigh*

See that icon? That WAS my back door. *sigh*

Have you tried the "Paper Clip Trick"™?
Apr. 30th, 2009 12:57 am (UTC)
Good idea!
It's been trademarked! I didn't know who to send my .02$ in for using...

Apparently the dealership didn't know either because I'm getting a whole new radio! The mechanics couldn't get it out either, so they are replacing the entire thing. How crazy is that!?!? I hope it's a better system!!

Chandler had a cd stuck in his player for several months. I fixed it for him in a matter of seconds, and he looked at me like I was "MAGICAL!" But he had the kind of radio where you could just pop off the faceplate and he had no idea it would do that. =o)

Here's hoping you get your car back soon!!

You are magical!!!
Guess what - I'm getting a whole new radio! LOL! The mechanics couldn't get it out either, so they are replacing the entire thing. How crazy is that!?!? I hope it's a better system!!

Re: You are magical!!!
Did you put GLUE on that CD or something??

Re: You are magical!!!
I'm not that clever.

(I'm just relieved they had trouble, too. I was convinced they would just push the eject button and it would work fine then I'd get cited for Munchausen syndrome for my car or something.)

Are you gonna get your CD back?

Re: You are magical!!!
I doubt it! But it was a burned disk of Beatles songs, so no big deal really.
If it had been a real CD then maybe I would have made a fuss. :)

I could claim it was something...
