My mom called me one day last week concerned because she found a pair of sunglasses in her car and thought they were mine/Monkeys. She wanted to make sure we knew where they were and that they'd get returned because she figured we were missing them. I assured her they weren't ours because both Monkeys and I wear prescription glasses, so we don't have sun glasses other than the magnetic kind that attach to our regular glasses. That spawned my parents (by now, my dad was on the phone, too) to launch into a kind of escalating "OMG but *who* could have left them there? the door was locked? did someone break in?" etc discussion over the now threatening set of glasses. She tried to describe them because they were strange and had a brand she didn't recognize, which made them all the more ominous. We were meeting for lunch later that day, so they decided not to panic until after they showed me the glasses.

We went to lunch and totally forgot about the glasses until I sat on them getting back into the car. They were my 3D classes from Coraline. Monkeys, Toast, and I saw it as a matinee on Friday the other week and they must have fallen out of my purse when I went down into town the following Saturday for WW.

Coraline was AMAZING. Neil Gaimon had some interesting links to reviews concerning changes to the story. I can understand the different points of view expressed in the reviews, but personally I was okay with the movie. I'd read the book a while ago - just long enough so that any changes to the story didn't bother me but not so long ago that I hadn't lost touch with everything and could use the book as points of reference. It was perfect timing.

....
Luke and Sylar make me giggle.

Heh! (regarding the glasses)

I'm guessing Luke is Sylar's little half-brother.

I was thinking similar thoughts about the half-brother! :) They make a good scary team.

I'm so excited about finding out about the horned rimmed glasses guy! He's gone back and forth so many times - he's so good at playing that role I have no idea which side of the fence he is really on. (Or maybe he's not on any fence, maybe he is as much an element of chaos as Sylar?)

I like to believe he's a "good guy", but that's only because I will it to be so.

I wish to state, for the record, you suck. Okay not really, but the theatres here do. The Totem Theatre, one of the oldest in town, clearly spelled this out on the Marquis as "CORALINE 2D".

Plus side, no fancy glasses needed!

Re: 3d
LOL! For a split second I got nervous that I had given away a spoiler or something and earned the sucky mcsuckerson comment. But the theaters sucking, while I am sad for you and S2K that you don't have the 3D access, is acceptable.

For what it's worth, I do think the movie would be equally wonderful in 2d as in 3d - I thought the colors and illustration were great, the storyline was great, the voice acting was great. I'd see it again in 2d. :)

Re: 3d
It tickled me that they put that on their Marquis.... even though it annoys me greatly that I don't get to watch 3d movies. :(

:(

Believe it or not, normally I'm not a huge fan of 3d movies. Part of it is that it's uncomfortable to wear the 3d glasses over my regular glasses and part of it may be I have problems with depth perception due to some weird eye syndrome my eye doctor says I have (Brown's Syndrome). I'm not sure that I have Brown's Syndrome, but i do have a wandering eye, and when it wanders it affects my depth perception, so I'm never sure if I'm seeing everything I'm supposed to be seeing.

Re: 3d
I think I'm just annoyed that I can't see 3D movies... I don't necessarily want to see them. Funny huh? I can see how 3D glasses would be kind of a pain for you. I always forget about you having a wandering eye.... I think it's... well kind of cute on you.

i am amazed by how many in our group have a bit of a wandering eye! makes me feel not so out of place. :) there's at least three of us, i think.

Re: 3d
It is kind of odd isn't it? It's like we have a higher than average amount of people with O neg blood. Weird.

Re: 3d
I'm glad we do, though. Because you all have people you can turn to for blood. O negs don't always have that! Since Monkeys is one of your small and special band of blood brothers, I bet he finds that comforting, as well. :)

Re: 3d
I really love that we have so many o negs. I just think it's darned cool and handy. That way if any one of us gets in trouble... they have plenty of donators.
