I got an autogenerated message from LJ and sent a question off in response to the email. Not only did they write back with an answer the same day, they gave me a tracking number almost immediately in response to the question so that I would know they were working on finding an answer and the status on their working on the solution. Mine was an easy question, so it got solved before I even know I had a tracking number and my own little LJ webpage dedicated to my question. Still, I think it's pretty darn cool how seriously they take user support. Kudos, LJ support team!! (Specifically, Erica, who answered my question.)

Is there a way to thank her? I clicked the "yes this answers my question" link, but it just took me to the expired tracking number page. I didn't want to just reply back because I didn't know if it would get to her specifically. I also figure they get loads of emails and might not want another one, even if it's a thank you, so that caused me some hesitation, as well.
The nature of support is that when someone responds with a 'thank you' all that'll happen is she'll close the request anyway. She won't respond to a thank you, as it's not our policy to do so. :)
When I clicked the yes link and it said the page was closed I thought it meant I'd run out of time to respond; I didn't realize my clicking it was what closed it. I was hoping the link would go to a survey where I could leave a comment saying how much I appreciated her (for her sake and something to show the bosses she was doing a great job). But if she got support points, that meets my goal of making sure she got some kind of reward/consideration, so I'm much happier now. Thank you!!
It's interesting to see a bit of the inner-workings of LJ! :)
