My wonderful husband somehow got copies of some William Hartnell episodes of Doctor Who (the Keys Of Marinus series), so now I can say I've seen every Doctor in action. Oddly enough, I was most impressed with the theme music. They have done a great job keeping true to the theme. Susan screams a lot. A lot. Why do people complain about Mel? I think Susan's got her beat. I was expecting Hartnell to be a grumpy old man, but he's actually really adorable. He's excited and adventurous and affectionate towards his companions. Granted, he's not actually *in* most of these episodes so far, so maybe I'm being premature in forming an opinion. I think my favorite thing is what I'm calling the "one take action." Flubbed lines, two people talking at once, and characters tripping as they walk are improvised over, and they are doing a fantastic job moving along when people seen to have forgotten a line. I'm also loving the special effects and costumes. Then again, I have always loved the special effects and costumes in Doctor Who. :)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, suddenly Hartnell appears on screen. I shall watch more closely now.
