Registration will eat your soul.

Registration is hectic. Enrollment is up up up! We have now hit in-person registration, so today our lobby was PACKED in addition to the phones ringing off the hook. Good times! This is our last week of the 7:30 to 6 pm work week, so this Friday is my last Friday to play with my mom. I will miss that. That being said, I'm looking forward to the potential for sleeping later... I hope to keep the early times because it does give me time to work uninterrupted by phones since if we aren't actually open I don't have to answer the phones. Still, I like the idea that if I do not want to do it every morning, I can sleep in an extra 30 minutes - yay!

My parents are on their way home from NY, and they are bringing me cheese curd and some local hot dogs that my uncle swears are *the best hot dogs in the whole world*. My mom called from the hotel to let me know they were stopping for the night. When dad got on the phone he sounded incredibly sad. He said he left the cooler with all the cheese outside some hotel somewhere. At first I thought, "but they just stopped for the night, so what hotel is he talking about?" Then I remembered all the times he's left books and stuff (including three presents from me) outside various hotels during family trips, and so I thought he must have left it at a gas station or something somehow in some unlikely and bizarre fashion. Then he managed to sound even sadder and apologize even more and elaborate on all the things he left (cheese, cheese curd, hot dogs, blah blah blah). I tried to sympathize while agreeing it sucked. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore, and he started giggling. Yeah, he totally faked me out. The glee in his voice was unsurpassed. I love my dad.

Your result for The Steampunk Style Test...

The Gadgeteer

36% Elegant, 66% Technological, 13% Historical, 52% Adventurous and 31% Playful!

You are the Gadgeteer, the embodiment of steampunk technology. Ironically, many of the things that most define your style are probably too large to easily carry about, but given the opportunity you would prefer to be seen surrounded by boiler engines, gear-driven calculators, and incredible automata. Of all the steampunk fashion styles, you place the greatest emphasis on technological accessories, and you are the most likely to create elaborate gadgets that are as much a part of your outfit as your clothes. You probably have goggles, but unlike most people you consider them to be for more than decoration. Whereas most people might look odd carrying a satchel of tools around, for you they may well be essential. Above all, you remind everyone that what sets the genre apart from Victoriana is simply the level of technology.
