Help! I need a branch!

I made some 2" by 3" leaves (maybe smaller) in pottery that will be Raku fired next Tuesday and should come out coppery. I want to use copper wire to attach them to a branch. If you've been to GARF picture a small ceramic version of some of those metal leaves in the booth near Raven's Nest and the privvies. If you've been to our house picture the leaves we have wrapped around our mirrors or in the corners of our guest bathroom. Kind of like that but not exactly like that. ANYWAY - I need really cool looking branch that's small enough so that four leaves don't look sparse.

You know what, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I WANT.

I just need help. And a branch. (and some copper wire)

You can make a branch, it's not as hard as it sounds. Get some nice long wire and some floral tape. Matthew or your man might actually have some nice thickish wire laying around. Then floral tape the wire. (They make brown) then bend it all wonky and branch like. That's how I made the 'branch' for my cherry blossoms.

Monkeys actually suggested that! But I'm not sure I'd be good at that. I get easily intimidated by art projects still. He actually offered to make one for me, but I'm hoping to have it before the semester ends so it can count as a finishd project for class and I'm not sure he nor I could get it done in time. My skills might be slow and Monkeys is just plain busy!

But neither of us thought of the brown floral tape, though, so I'm holding on to that idea.
And Matt is a good idea for wire, too. I will need that no matter what I end up doing...

Yay Thanks!!!!!! :)

I will post pictures when I get it done.

You can come out here sometime and we can take a walk in the woods and find a nice branch. Then we can laquer it like I did with my staffs. (Staves?)
Mikes supposed to be coming out to "make fire" with me. (That's what you kids are calling it these days??)*giggle* Seriously though, he's bringing out his fire kit, and I've got my flint and steel... can't find my magnesium stick, but I'll look for it next week.
You're welcome to come out too.
Come... Take a walk on the wild side... =o)

oh! your staffs/staves are beautiful. i would love something like that!! and i'll have my leaves done Tuesday so i'll have a better idea of what i'll be needing, too. yay!

i like sarah's idea of making one, it's my backup plan. but i'm still hoping to find a nice branch. in my head i think i'm seeing driftwood - which is not realistic - so i'm hoping to find inspiration. and even if i don't, a walk in the woods would rock regardless.

plus - making fire's cool!! Wo0t! when are you getting together with mike?

i think the next two weekends are kinda busy - next weekend is may 3rd, right? i know what i'm doing that day! this weekend I have to do WW at 9 and the road clean up at 10. i'm not sure how long that will last and then the get together Saturday night probably at 6. hmmmm. ack - i also need to find out when our last class is meeting. if i don't get it for class that's okay, i'm still going to make finish it, but i'm hopeful. argh! worky work busy bee!
