i do not feel adequately prepared for tomorrow.
i'm not sure how long my guest speaker will talk - but probably an hour which is longer than i expected. at first i was thinking "easy night!" and was going to do the midterm review and be done. then i remembered i skipped memory when we did the listening/note taking/memory chapter so i have added a 45 minute memory overview BUT am not sure if it will really be 45 minutes or if it will take a bit longer. i can't afford that because of the midterm review game which HAS to be done. so i'll have to on the fly figure out when and what to cut from my memory spiel which i do not have memorized.
another extemporaneous night - which i hate.
but i have been treating it as an easy night and have found the time to ride my bike for an hour each night this week so far (Sun/Mon/Tues) and have managed to have the whatsface tension adjuster dooby on a higher level than i usually do. i had to because i finally reached my WW goal weight last friday than promptly on Saturday ate more at a family reunion than i ever have in my entire life. so i have to wrangle my way back to my Friday weight so that i don't get in trouble. If i can stay at or below my goal weight for six weeks than i get to go to the meetings for free!! huzzah!
i've also found time to read some of PD Wodehouse's Leave it to Psmith which is brilliant. that souldn't surprise me after all the Geeves and Wooster I've seen.
my new job has "started" in that i have taken over the BAS letters/admissions and the BSN letters - which at this point isn't a lot, maybe 5 or 10 a week. I also did a training session with the people that will be taking over my evaluations. but they can't start yet because they have to hire someone to take over their old jobs and train them. so at this point I'm still doing all my old job. it's not bad, though. and when the evaluations do get taken from me i'll get more responsiblities with the bachelors degrees.
yeah, boring post i know. but it catches Sarah & SoberChef & DBD up on my life since i haven't seen fit to write an actual letter!! Sorry!! Loves you!!

I really have no idea what Canada Day is. It was on my calendar. But I like Canada! I stare longingly at it whenever I visit my Grandmother, who lives in Ogdensburg, NY right on the St Lawrence Seaway. And I totally fell in love with Vancouver, BC the time I got to visit there. I would love to go back some day if possible. Compared to BC, though, Toronto is much closer. Some NY visit I'm going to force my relatives into some kind of day trip. Anyway, I shall make my way to some Wiki or another and see what Canada Day is all about :)
( in case you are also an ignorant American )
Actually, I've been reading a lot on Canada lately anyway because of a lot of my science links on iGoogle. Did you know that Canada has lower gravitational field than the US? And if Global Warming is true it will be in the 80's there when down here in Florida we'll be well over the 100's. I read that a few months ago and told my husband we needed to move to Canada. (Then I could stop the Weight Watchers... Just kidding. I told my friend McAmson I was going on the "build a really really really tall tower in Canada and live at the very top" diet. It's not terribly funny, but it makes me laugh.)
Okay, this has reached the babbling point so I ought to stop.
Happy Canada Day!!

here's an interesting bit of triva...Elvis Costello is the voice of the Geiko lizard!
(maybe not but i just heard a commerical with him in it and sure sounded like him)
Okay, whether or not you like American Idol that's your business BUT go to YouTube and search for Blake singing You Give Love a Bad Name. I'm not a huge Bon Jovi fan (Dead or Alive and Blaze of Glory and that's about it) but good grief the beatbox revamped 00's version of that song was really cool. Even John was impressed and he hates this show. I would search for it now and post it here but it literally just happened so it can't possibly be up yet.
I've just burned all my Bare Naked Ladies and Cake cds onto one disk for my car. I've called it BNL (heart's) Cake and attempted to decorate it but I'm a lousy artist. so i have what looks like a three year old's drawing of a birthday cake with little miniature female stick figures - two in states of happy undress and the third in a skirt and looking shocked - dancing around the cake. I'm not sure people will realize what the women are doing without some sort of explanation but it made me smile so i guess that's enough. if i'd had more room i'd have drawn another women jumping out of the cake but i didn't plan spatially before drawing.
now i'm burning all my jonathan coulton, ookla the mok, and irritating rainbow (well, some irritating rainbow) and god only knows what will get doodled on that one. every time i try to draw a monkey it comes out looking like a dog. alas.
At present there are seven students enrolled in my class. One got dropped for non-payment - LOL. Anyway, cross fingers no one else signs up and the class gets cancelled. I honestly REALLY do want to teach again but this timeslot SUCKS and we have a lot going on this summer that I didn't realize when I first agreed to teach. I'm certain they will be making cancellation decisions soon - classes start on Monday so they have to give them chance to hop into another one. The antici....pation is killing me. If it does make I guess I'll have to swipe one of
sp4z26's cool teaching icons.

I'll babble about what i did today...
> skipped church and played heathen
> called my grandmother and talked to her for an hour (which if you know me, actually makes up for the church thing as penence...)
> rode my exercise bicycle for an hour
> cooked lunch! (I did! Not John!!)
> posted to LJ about Friday (yay!) and Saturday (sad and yay!) and tried to catch up on flist
> cleaned out my iTunes - fixed the Jonathon Coulton titles and duplicates plus other stuff
> cluttered up my iTunes with a bunch of NPR podcasts and the new BNL cds
> cleaned out my iTunes by burning the NPR podcasts to CD
> reloaded my iPod
> did yoga
> swept the floors
> fluffed the couch pillows that keep trying to escape
> fixed the pads on the bottoms of the chairs that came off
> read some of my Beatles Off the Record book
> cooked dinner (I did! Not John!!)
> washed dishes
> did some leglifts and situps
> skipped Rosary and played heathen (this i do regret)
My husband got me a new hard drive for my laptop because i filled mine up with pictures from GARF and George Harrison videos. Durrrrr. He took her clean apart and put her all back together again with only one screw leftover!! Much better than when me and my dad took apart a toaster then threw out all the pieces about an hour later after repeated failed attempts to put it back together again. The exclamation point doesn't work very well but otherwise it seems fine. It took him over two hours. You know how when the power is out (like say, from a hurricane...) you keep thinking "well, i can't read so i'll watch tv. oops, nope. i guess i'll go on-line. ooops, nope." So even though i knew it's little guts were spread out all over the dining room table i kept thinking "oh, i'll finish reading my flist. nope. oh, i'll get those cds added to itunes. nope."
My knee hurts! Any suggestions for knee trouble? I think I screwed it up after YEARS of sitting on my left leg instead of with both feet on the floor like you are supposed to do. it has caused me to have to slow down my pedaling though i'm still making myself ride at least 4 days a week. But it makes it hard to fall asleep at night so if anyone has suggestions for fixing it let me know!!
