Saw this over on an Alice In Wonderland community and it's really cool. matt_pee said that a19 year old in Austrlian made the video and music from sounds and clips from the Disney version of AiW. I don't normally like the Disney version cuz i'm a snob but this is really catchy cool.

playing around with wonderland art to make wallpaper. I'm redoing my computer desktop from black books to wonderland before my class starts since i'm HOPING to do powerpoints in class instead of overhead tranparencies. so i'm trying to clean up my laptop. so it's kind of school related... these are tiny pictures of some of the ones i've made. but i gotta make the actual image smaller files before uploading them to the gallery. and i'm not allowed to play until i've gotten some real work done on my class. so maybe later today.

I had been intending to post these for quite some time but never got around to it. I have always loved Alice in Wonderland/Through the Lookingglass but I didn't start collecting until reddheaded and I attempted to plan a Mad Wedding Shower for disbandedtoastr. The collection started out as decorations for the shower but has grown. It's a bit too Disney and not enough Tenniel but I'm working on that! This may be more interesting than those Wonderland Double Dactyl poems i kept posting...

Last night someone made the comment about The Last Mimzy being spelled differently from Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky poem (All mimsy were the borogoves...) and I told him that maybe it was a British spelling versus American Spelling thing.

He loocked mad for a second and I got a little afraid I had offended him.
But he said it was just because, for a few split seconds, he almost believed me.

I was so insanely happy.

I have attempted to write a double dactyl. I've written a few before (one about the Beatles that i'm very proud of and will happily post if anyone even hints at asking...)

anyway - if anyone wants to make suggestions or critiques or better yet wants to reassure me that it's actually okay and i don't have to do anything to it please feel free to post ;)

Fed up with lunacy
Cried out "Oh Dear"

Grinning maniacally
Purred Cat, "that's unfortunate.

which does nearly follow the correct Double Dactyl structure (purred cat doesn't quite have the right beat but otherwise i think it's right) but i don't like it as much as

Alice in Wonderland,
fed up with lunacy,
look quite askance when the
cat did appear

Grinning maniacally
purred he, "that's unfortunate
for categorically
we're all mad here"

which does not follow the correct double dactyl structure as it does not start with jibberish and the second verse doesn't contain a double dactyl but i think it is grammatically nicer and flows better.
but if the first one sounds okay than i'll just leave it at that and stop worrying about it and declare it done. opinions?
