"Gypsy", based on the autobiography of striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee, is the ultimate story about an aggressive stage mother who pushes her two daughters into show business. The show follows Rose, June and Louise on their trip across the United States during the 1920's, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born. "Gypsy" features Jule Styne's music and Stephen Sondheim's lyrics and includes the songs "Let Me Entertain You", "Some People", "You'll Never Get Away from Me", "If Momma Was Married", "All I need is the Girl", "Everything's Coming Up Roses", "You Gotta Get A Gimmick" and "Together Wherever We Go".

Don't miss a delightful evening filled with all the magical song and dance that made this a classic Broadway hit! Come see why XXX's superb summer musicals have become some of the hottest tickets in town. Purchase your tickets now! Okay, and now this is what Toaster sent back to me... I did change the name from "Rose" to "Lily in honor of my grandmother who is (still) a drummer in band though as she is 82 she no longer does her little strip tease act. Yeah, my gram has some cool stories. Deal with it.

I like my revised description of the musical much better. (I couldn't remember your grandmas name, so I just stuck with "Rose".) I'd see it! The songs alone would be worth it.

=o) Toaster

"Gypsy", based on the autobiography of striptease artist, “Lily” the octogenarian grandmother of MadLadyRed, is the ultimate story about an aggressive stage mother who drums for a roving band of aging Gypsies with loose morals. The show follows Lily, and her drum kit on their trip across the United States during the 1920's, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born. "Gypsy" features Jule Styne's music and Stephen Sondheim's lyrics and includes the songs "Let Me Entertain You With my Thong", “Some People Like It, Yeah, You Like It Like That Don’t Ya?", "You'll Never Get Away from Me, My Walker Has Wheels", "If Momma Was Married, Daddy Would be Mad", "All I need is the Girl and My Sparkling Dentures", "Everything's Coming Up Roses and Going Down Prunes", and "You Gotta Get A Gimmick, I Gotta Get A Hip Replacement". The play culminates with "Together Wherever We Go", - a 35 minute love song about the joy of Depends.

Okay, that's just funny. She deserves some kind of award or something. Like a Pulitzer.
Who is the mad bomber what bombs at midnight? It's Toaster baby! She's got a gimmick.

Heheh...
Ok, after re-reading that, I think my favorite part is "Together Wherever We Go..."

BAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh gawd... girl, you are just insanely funny! I love all the songs, but for some reason "You'll Never Get Away from Me, My Walker Has Wheels" had me laughing so hard my cheeks hurt... the upper ones that is. =P

Oh... I vaguely recall you mentioning her a couple times I think. But nothing detailed that I recall. But if you're anything like a "chip off the block" I can only imagine. LOL!
